Free visual inspection and a written scope of work before any mitigation begins - photos, moisture readings, and drying logs go in your claim file
The scope we write is the scope we bill. Anything new gets shown to you, in writing, before we touch it.
Meet the Carlsbad Team Behind DryMark Restoration Carlsbad
We’re the crew that shows up when water’s still moving through your walls or mold’s turned a closet into a health hazard. Every person on this page has been background-checked, licensed, and verified before they set foot on your property. What ties us together isn’t a handbook - it’s The Haven Standard, the same set of rules we’ve followed since 2011. We don’t do verbal assurances. We do written prices, photo records, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise signed on every job.
Our People
Alicia Brennan, Owner
I started DryMark Restoration in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster, watching homeowners lose tens of thousands because crews “forgot” to document the damage properly. That documentation gap is what The Haven Standard was built to close. I still review every written scope before it goes out, and I’ll personally take your call at 2 a.m. if the on-call rotation’s swamped. The thing I learned the hard way: moisture you can’t see destroys more square footage than the visible stuff, which is why we run psychrometric data - temperature, relative humidity, and vapor pressure differential, basically how hard the air is pushing water into dry materials - on every water job, not just the big ones. Off the clock, I’m usually restoring a 1974 Chris-Craft I bought as a wreck. Same principle: document everything, fix it right, or fix it again.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been running mitigation crews for nine years, and he’s certified in Applied Structural Drying through the IICRC. He’s the one who decides whether your subfloor needs Injectidry panel drying or if we can hit target moisture content with standard air movers and dehumidifiers. Marcus grew up in Vista, so he knows which Carlsbad neighborhoods - think the older tract homes near Tamarack Beach - were built with gypsum plaster that behaves completely differently than drywall when saturated. His human detail: he keeps a spreadsheet of every job’s starting and ending moisture readings, and he’s weirdly proud that his 2023 average drying time came in 18% under industry standard. He’ll talk your ear off about it if you let him.
Denise R., Senior Installer
Denise handles the reconstruction side, which means she’s the person who makes sure your kitchen doesn’t look like two different kitchens spliced together after a pipe burst. She’s been installing flooring and cabinetry for twelve years, and she’s particularly sharp on coastal California’s quirks - the salt air that corrodes fasteners faster inland, the way Carlsbad’s marine layer can slow cure times on certain adhesives. Denise is the one who writes the material scope down to the SKU, so there’s no “we’ll figure it out when we get there” on her jobs. Outside work, she builds acoustic guitars. She says it’s the same discipline: measure twice, cut once, and never blame the wood for your mistake.
Javier M., Service Coordinator
Javier answers the phones and dispatches crews, which sounds straightforward until you’ve tried to coordinate four emergency water jobs during a January storm while keeping every homeowner updated. He’s been with us four years, and he’s the reason our average answer time stays under fifteen seconds - no voicemail trees, no “leave a message and we’ll call back.” Javier grew up in Oceanside and still lives there, so he knows which Carlsbad streets flood first when the Buena Vista lagoon overflows and which backcountry roads wash out in heavy rain. He speaks Spanish and English, and he’s usually the one walking homeowners through what their adjuster just told them versus what it actually means. His desk has a bobblehead of Fernando Valenzuela. He doesn’t watch baseball; he just likes the guy’s story.
Trevor K., Apprentice Technician
Trevor joined us eighteen months ago after working in HVAC, which turns out to be a solid foundation - he already understood airflow, load calculations, and how a building breathes. He’s working through his IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician certification now, and Marcus has him handling initial moisture mapping on smaller residential jobs. Trevor’s the one who sets up the Phoenix dehumidifiers and B-Air air movers, logs the daily readings, and flags anything that doesn’t match the psychrometric projections. He lives in Carlsbad proper, near Calavera Hills, and he’s been useful on storm jobs because he knows which of those newer developments have the drainage issues the builders didn’t advertise. He’s also twenty-six and still skateboards, which Marcus pretends to find unprofessional but secretly envies.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with us whether we’re drying a condo near Carlsbad Village or a ranch house in La Costa. Clause 1 means every customer gets a written price before anyone starts work - no exceptions, no “we’ll bill you later.” The photo record on every visit, the daily moisture logs, the signed 365-Day Done Right Promise: these aren’t corporate initiatives we rolled out last quarter. They’re the operating system Alicia built the company on in 2011, and every person on this page is trained to them before they touch a customer’s property.
We’re independently owned and operated, not a franchise, which means the person who answers your call can reach the owner without passing through a regional manager in another state. Our equipment - Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, Injectidry - is documented to IICRC, RIA, and IFA standards because that’s what turns restoration invoices into payable insurance claims. And if you’ve got a competitor’s written estimate, we’ll review it free under our Second Opinion policy. Same standard, every crew, every time.
